Welcome to Downtown Burlington

Downtown Burlington is the city’s living room: Brant Street’s shops and patios on one side, Spencer Smith Park and the lake on the other, all within an easy walk.

It suits people who want to leave the car at home, from first-time buyers in a condo to downsizers trading a big house for a view of the water.

The homes

The real estate
market.

Most of the downtown market is condominiums, from mid-rise buildings tucked behind Brant Street to towers along Lakeshore Road with views over the lake. Townhomes fill in between, and the quieter side streets still hold older detached homes on mature lots.

New buildings keep arriving, which gives buyers a choice between established suites with larger floor plans and newer ones with more amenities. Building, floor, exposure and condo fees matter as much as the address here, and they are worth walking through together before you choose.

In Downtown Burlington, the designated school depends on the exact street address. Look the address up with each board before you fall for a house.
